Labor Day
Concluding Labor Day weekend with Camille's birthday-- in which to celebrate, Frances did his first pig roast. Yes, you read that right: a full on pig roast.
Piggly Von Bacon McTrotterface was thusly ordered, butched, seasoned, and roasted for the three or four hours required under the careful supervision of Chef Francis, along with some superb steaks, garlic noodles, lomi salmon, ahi poke, enough chicken wings to feed an army, zucchini bread, and soooo much other good stuff!
Turns out both sets of parents were around, as well as all of Camille's sisters and a mess of cousins, Francies' coworkers (ever seen so many professional chefs in one place???), plus all of us UCLA friends and more than a few others. We devoured the pig and much of the rest of the food (barely made a dent in the zillion pounds of garlic noodles though-- literally it was an entire tub of them!)...
t'was a great time! Happy Birthday Camille!
(and which friend has a reason to party next, so we can find a reason to hire Francis' pig roasting abilities? hmmmmmmmm...)
