Dim sum
One of the problems with ordering off a menu, instead of carts, especially if you show up hungry, is that your eyes tend to be bigger than your stomach.
We started with a baseline of about two dozen dishes for the 10 people we were expecting, and ended up with 38 orders and 11 people by time we were done. Way too much food, but we did a very impressive job eating almost all of it! (thanks to Mara, Matt, Michelle, Kristina, Bora, Sue, Ophelia, Carley, Sophia, and Richard for making such gluttony possible!)
It helps that Elite is pretty damned good. Aside from oddly not-really-folded har gow and the fact that they include a bit of asparagus with their har cheug fun, both of which were still excellent otherwise, just about everything there is very solid, if not better. As there are so many very good places for dim sum in the area, to have every dish be solid is tough, and Elite is one of the few to manage that. (many are stronger in specific dishes, but they usually screw at least one thing up...)
After avoiding exploding (mmmmm, dan tat... almost killed us, but so good!), well, many hours later, met up with June, Virgil, and Connie, and did some grilling at home 'cause, well, I needed more food?? Grilled pumpkin was a brilliant idea...
