NIGHT+MARKET
On Jonathan Gould's 101 Best Restaurants in LA list, NIGHT+MARKET is very good Thai food at semi-reasonable prices considering their Hollywood location. Some dishes are very authentic and not for the faint of heart (such as the koi tuna), while others such as the beef noodle (khao sol haw) were just so-so.
And some did disappoint-- the pig tail, the idiot fish (great skin, where's the meat?), ice cream sandwich (sweet bread was weird for such a creation). Most of the rest was excellent, though, and considering we ordered almost the entire dineLA menu, that says a lot. Spicy chicken wings, pad thai, pork toro (pork collar), nom nom nom nom!!
Sadly the cost of ordering the entire menu didn't result in many leftovers (maybe we were starving?), and so in the end, as good as this place it, it's hard to say we'd be regulars after our experience here.
