Tokyo 2013: Index
Quick trip to Tokyo for some urban exploring, some history, one of the most organized and orderly transit systems out there, and a lot of Japanese food. Saw a giantic Gundam statue and a replica of the Statue of Liberty, had sushi, soba, and ramen at every opportunity, that was almost every goal on the whole trip! The tuna auctions at the Tsujiki Fish Market were a little crazy as well.
Barely touched the highlights and didn't have time to go anywhere else (Yokohama, Kyoto, Osaka, etc.), but given the duration of the trip, that was all good.
Day 1 - Airplanes and hotels and jet lag, not a whole lot of Tokyo.
Day 2 - Ebisu, Shibuya, Harajuku, Meiji Jingu shrine, Toko Metropolitan Government Building, and Shinjuku.
Day 3 - Akihabara, Yodobashi Camera, Imperial Palace East Garden, Tokyo Station, and Chiyoda (central Tokyo).
Day 4 - Odaiba and the Gundamn statue, Ginza, and a hint of Roppongi.
Day 5 - Tsukiji Fish Market for the tuna auctions and return back to the USA-- six hours before I left! (hooray for time travel! Or just changing time zones).
