Food
Starting the day off with dim sum at Capital Seafood. They used to be my number one spot a few years ago, then the quality went down and we started hitting other places more regularly. This visit, they seemed to have redecorated (or not?) just a little, and the food was good, but nothing special. Lo bac guo in particular was a little weird (too finely ground, too smooth) and the tripe was too heavily ginger'ed. Rest of it wasn't bad, and the lo mai gai was unusually good despite its simplicity.
Fosselman's for ice cream afterwards. Everyone went a little crazy, Sue and Ophelia had a triple-scoop little boat, the rest of us were (barely) more reasonable. Vanilla and cookie dough in a waffle cone are quite good, although next time, get the vanilla on the bottom. Oops!
Karaoke at Max Karaoke was a quick 90-minute session due to scheduling deficiences, but we abused plenty of Taylor Swift songs, especially We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together and Sparks Fly. The usuals too, including Avenue Q's The Internet Is For Porn.
Wrapped things up with Pacific Dining Car's late night menu, which is waaaaay more affordable than their normal menu. Filet mignon and eggs are pretty good, although the free-range eggs didn't quite live up to the hype. Delicious? Yes. Absolutely amazing? Not really. The reuben got devoured, and the hot chocolate was top-notch. Nom nom nom! Ended things rather late and with serious food coma. *grins*
