Post-Thanksgiving

Post-Thanksgiving festivities. Lunch at Far East Cafe, lots of family, drinks at singlebarrel, more drinks at Agenda, karaoke at Music Land...

Was singlebarrel worth the wait? Not really. The promise of a 1920s-era speakeasy with very skilled bartenders and great drinks is undone by the bland decor, but it is pretty nifty to go to at least once. The rest of downtown San Jose is still a little ghetto for clubbing, but it's not too bad if you're out with friends and just want to have fun.

The random rave going on two blocks away was pretty surprising, though. How many girls did we see outside in bras and bikini bottoms with the crazy fur boots? Yeah, we're getting old.

Music Land for karaoke is pretty good if you like Chinese songs, and the fancy online songbook (vs. old school paper ones) is pretty cool too. And holy crap, I haven't seen Barry in months or years (nevermind JLai!) and I see Barry twice in a week all of a sudden. Crazy!
