Matt and Michelle's engagement

Started off the morning with an awful cluster-f*** of a race (the Awesome 80's Fun Run in Pasadena), followed by dim sum at NBC Seafood and then pearl tea at Half and Half. Finished the 40-minute-late-starting, ridiculous disaster of a 5k race without even enough water in 24:06 (7:49/mile), then went to stuff hungry bellies at NBC Seafood and Half n Half.

Still running on a meager 3.5 hours of sleep, came home, got cleaned up, and went through frantic (though stealthy) last-minute preparations for what Michelle thought was her birthday dinner. Matt and Michelle's cousins did all the hard work, I just had to properly time our arrival-- which with Alicia's help, went surprisingly smoothly.

Texting Matt before we walked in through the front of the restaurant, Michelle was greeted by one of her cousins and lead to the patio dining area where almost everyone was. Lots of hellos, the special birthday chair, then a pink gorilla appeared! Singing Happy Birthday! Michelle's parents then walked in as the gorilla revealed himself to be Matt, and over the hugs to her parents, Michelle turned around to find Matt on one knee...
