Rustic Canyon
Conclusion about Rustic Canyon's burger: overrated. It's rich and tasty and delicious, but it's too rich and tasty and delicious for its own good. They could skip buttering the bun or something and that would help immensely, instead of reaching the halfway point and then realizing instead of feeling full of tasty and delicious, you're instead overwhelmed by how rich it is.
Skip the confit bacon or the egg, too-- it's just too much. Thick sliced of bacon, soaked in bacon fat, is great in theory, but just too much in this case.
As far as the rest-- even on a Tuesday, this place is packed with a 90 minute wait. The setting is modern and very nice, the crowd is a little business-like (and not too hip) as expected, and the rest of the food is good. French fries are a tad heavily seasoned, but are nom nom nom!! especially with the garlic aioli. We just thought the burger was overrated, especially for the price-- $18 base price, $4 more for the bacon!
