Oo-kook
Mara's cousin Geoffery was in town, which was a great excuse to go to all you can eat (AYCE) Korean BBQ!
Naturally, why take him to an average one when you can spend a few bucks extra to go to Oo-kook for some really good stuff (where he's from does have good AYCE kbbq, it's just not as good...). As usual, Oo-kook delivered. Beef tongue is heavenly, the galbi (both marinaded and unmarinaded) is perfect in texture and taste, the "Kobe" intercoastal is a nice mix of chewy and flavorful, even the shrimp is pretty good.
For whatever reason tonight, service was a little rough (except when servers had entire platters of meat surrounding Kristina's head), maybe due to everyone watching the Olympics on the large 50" TVs scattered throughout the large-group dining area? The grill also seemed to burst into random flame on one edge pretty often, but that just added to the entertainment!
Sooooooooooo good. Nom nom nom.
Left most of the group after (Mara, Geoffery, John, Kristina, Sue, Ophelia, and myself) to head down to Sea Launch afterwards to look at the Zenit 3SL rocket. Matt and Michelle made it with me-- and to see a space-capable rocket right in your own backyard being pretty for launch is (severe understatement!) pretty awesome.
