Tasty Garden
Mara was determined to get the waffle-thingy at Tasty Garden, so semi-randomly on a Sunday, everyone was rounded up and we went.
Tasty Garden is a type HK-style cafe. Food is pretty typical too, aside from the waffle-thing. Lunch specials are pretty affordable, and the food, while good, is undistinguished. Peking sparerib and chicken chow mein were the highlights, while the walnut prawns, bok choy and mushrooms, and French filet mignon weren't quite as good. And of course the waffle-thing-- not bad, but far from the best.
Hit Half and Half afterwards, of course, then many hours later (took many hours to become hungry again), a different group and I made it over to The Counter for this month's special: carne asada burger and churro milkshake. Mmmmmmmmm! Although I can say that the experience was somewhat lacking with just four of us, as opposed to the big crazy groups we have gone with in the past for the carne asada. Something about not having a dozen people running around on crazy sugar highs... *grins*
