Fogo de Chao
For excellent Brazilian BBQ, Fogo de Chao is always a solid (if expensive) choice. Over dineLA Restaurant Week they go from "ridiculous" to "vaguely justifiable" for two weeks, so we make it a point to visit.
The salad bar is delicious with a fairly varied selection, and on the table is mashed potatoes, another fries starch I forget, and (very tasty, but too mushy) plantains. Don't load up too much on asparagus, cheese, smoked salmon, and cheese, though, because the main course is the continuous skewers of meat that they keep bringing by your table.
Everyone's favorites tend to vary-- and they don't usually have chicken hearts-- but the house special, the top round, the garlic steak, and a few others tend to be consistently very good. Food just keeps coming and coming, which is a major plus over some of the smaller, less popular places, 'cause you know the meat you are getting is always fresh and cooked to perfection! Dessert is pretty good too; the mango cream thing is delicious!
Thanks to Mara for setting this trip up!
