New Year's Day 2012

We all survived New Year's Eve the night before! Those who could wake up headed over to NBC Seafood in Monterey Park for dim sum; much to our surprise we ran into Billy and Amy (and their kids!) there as well! (Ethan and Kiera... awww so cute!)

After the usual meal-- nom nom, tripe, har gow, shu mai, pai gut, har cheung, char siu bau, dan tat, and all the good stuff-- Dan and I realized it was a friggin' awesome day outside. Instead of taking the freeway home, we drove through (surprisingly deserted) east LA on surface streets, Dan leaning out the window snapping pictures the whole way!

Wrapped up the day with Shin Sen Gumi Hakata Ramen and dessert at Menchie's. Mmmmmmmm, ramen! And finally to cap things off, we verified that Pearl and Simon had recovered from the night before. (they had! Although Chris refused to show himself...)
