New York 2011: Day 6: Niagara Falls
Having survived the night before, we actually made it to Niagara Falls! Sadly still no Maiden of the Mist-- we probably could've squeezed it in, but that would've made the schedule extremely tight-- but even from the cliffs above, the falls are still one of the world's most impressive natural sights. The Maiden of the Mist captains must be crazy to deliberately drive their boats into millions of gallons of mist rising up.
A happy set of coincidences next: shopping at the Duty Free requires you to drive through the Duty Free store on the way out to pick up your goods, which irked us, til we drove through and found that we got to skip most of the line of cars while heading back to the USA. Sweet!
Headed to Duff's in Buffalo for the original buffalo wings (or close enough), where we found that yes, the buffalo wings really are better in Buffalo. Quite possibly the best I've had, and with chili-on-fries to go with it, delish. Started saying good-byes to the group too-- definitely a fun time!
Then to the airport for everyone else to head home... some delays meant we got to watch how excited Buffalo natives get when the Buffalo Bills win, then a few more screw-ups in Chicago on my way home, but eventually I made it, and managed to survive the multiple crying babies on the flight!
