Mammoth: April 2011: Day 2
The morning was a bit rough for everyone. Clearly we were staying in a condo that hadn't been remodeled since it was first built 30 years ago, and that included the furniture. Ugh.
A massive pot of oatmeal later, aided by bananas, bagels, and eggs, we were ready to go. Cruised up to Cloud Nine Express to do Ricochet, had a scare as Tiffany's bindings came off her snowboard, immediately headed to Wave Rave in the Village to get repairs done, then, snowboard fixed, back to the mountain, up to McCoy Station, and a lovely afternoon full of awesome snow.
Happy hour at Smokeyard followed with a bunch of additional friends, then we trekked back to the cabin (conveniently right next door to the Village) and died. June put together spaghetti and stuffed mushrooms for dinner (yum! thanks June!) while we went through the last of the movies we'd rented on the little TV. The beer supply and the vodka supply were also (somewhat) depleted, along with a hefty portion of cake.
Nom, nom, nom...
And for the record: seeing a snowboarder fall is common enough. You normally go "hmm, what cool design is on the bottom of her board?" That time we got to see a pair of feet sticking up in the air (!). On a skiier, this is common. For a snowboarder? Bad times.
