Mammoth: Presidents' Day 2011: Day 2

We woke up to three feet of snow outside the front door. Gorgeous!

Then I had to tromp through the snow to get the materials for breakfast from next door. Whipped up some french toast and sausage before we hit the slopes.

A snow-filled morning of fresh powder and fresh snow. Spent most of our time going down Sunshine (single black) right under Chair 25, getting my butt kicked at the top and then being (mostly) ok the rest of the way down as I'd crash in three, four, or five feet of powder. We lost everyone else-- Dan, Lan Lan, and Mike-- in deep powder a few times, too. You'd see a POOF!! of snow and then just a helmet sticking out...

Finished the day off like the rest of the day-- trying to avoid the crazy long lines and busy chairlifts (they ran some chairs at half-capacity during the day due to wind), mostly up chair 22. Simply a beautiful day, especially as the clouds lifted and the sun came out in the afternoon.

Filled up on Michael and Susie's fajitas for dinner. Ate soooo much food we were ready to burst! Somehow we survived the hot tub without exploding.
