Manhattan Beach
Wandering Manhattan Beach-- beautiful, warm winter day. Part of why we live in Los Angeles. *grins*
Started the day at Uncle Bill's Pancake House. A Manhattan Beach staple for years, we'd never made it-- it was sufficiently popular to have huge crowds, so we always wandered elsewhere. This day, we made it a point to go, and we must've lucked out, as we only had a two minute wait. Seated quickly outside to enjoy the day, then we enjoyed fresh juice (yum!) to go with our french toast and waffles.
Food was simply done, but tasty. Didn't look fancy, didn't fancy, but a nice thick ham steak to go with the french toast, the bacon was nice and meaty, the french toast was evidently delicious (I don't think I got a bite, did I?) and the waffle was, again, simple-yet-delicious.
Since it was a sunny day, we headed down to the beach for a nice stroll... why not, right?
Dinner was at The Counter in Torrance. It was actually wasn't even plan B-- but it turns out what we thought was Baja Fresh was now The Counter. Heck, though, The Counter is pretty damned good, and even better, the current special was the carne asada burger and the churro milkshake. MMMMMMMMM!
