Dim sum and pearl tea
This should be a familiar combination by now: dim sum for brunch, followed by pearl tea afterwards!
Very unexpected trip back to NBC Seafood just four days later, albeit with coworkers from UCLA instead of friends... but a very expected journey to Half and Half after dim sum for pearl tea. Mmmmm!
Dim sum quality at NBC was a little better than my previous impression, but still not exactly award winning. No steamed gow choi gow and the tripe was only so-so... har gow wasn't all that either, nor was the shu mai. But hey it was affordable... and they had the yellow sweet cakes almost like grandma used to make!
Half and Half's pearl tea remains yummy. Mike and I are very glad we piled into the car with Caroline and everyone else though, 'cause holy crap, it was still raining- and massively poured rain and lightning while we were at Half and Half. The drive back to west LA had enough water on I-10W to paddle a kayak in! Yikes!
