Sky's Gourmet Tacos and Orochon Ramen
Random discovery: the awful Chinese place next to a local Vons has new owners. Ming Wok is the name, instead of ABC Chinese Food. Never actually tried ABC, but Ming Wok is pretty awful. It was cheap at least, $4.15, so you can't complain too much.
A day or two later on the way to lunch, Sophia and I found Sky's Gourmet Tacos parked in Westwood. Lunch plans immediately changed and we went for tacos instead, 'cause the shrimp, chicken, and potato tacos at Sky's are extremely tasty. Even on a rainy day, they're worth it. Nom. Nom nom nom.
Dinner the same night as Sky's Gourmet Tacos was at Orochon Ramen. They're known for their spicy ramen and, well, not too much else. It was pretty tasty, but in a land filled with more than a few good ramen shops, Orochon doesn't do quite enough to stand out unless you are obsessed with trying super-spicy ramen and huge scallions (meh). Still, I do enjoy ramen, and this was good enough for me to leave satisifed, especially on day 5 (out of 6) of straight rain!
