Temescal Canyon to Will Rogers SP
Continuing Heather C.'s birthday weekend, the goal for Sunday was to meet up with everyone and go hiking at Will Rogers State Park.
We were foiled, though.
A polo match was underway at Will Rogers State Park, forcing people to park in the neighborhood, park in Temescal Canyon (Temescal Gateway Canyon Park, whatever the full name is), etc. etc. Freakin' mess. Ana, Pablo, and I ended up separated from everyone at Temescal Canyon, some others bailed, and since I had evening plans, I sorta had to move in...
To keep things interesting, though, since all three of us go to Temescal Canyon on a regular basis (*cough* like the previous day *cough*), we took a different trail than the usual set this time: the Rivas Canyon trail to Will Rogers State Park (2.1 miles).
It was a nice little hike, saw some beautiful cactus plants, a tree/bush overgrown enough to be like a small room under its branches, and some horses as we entered Will Rogers. We only had a few minutes to wander, though, then we had to head back.
t'was definitely a nice little hike, though. Seeing the pumpkin patch and art fair at Temescal Canyon was fun too.
