Heather C.'s Birthday and Temescal Canyon
Random, 1am "want to go hike Temescal Canyon?" from Amy.
Uhhh.
Sure.
(haven't gone hiking in a while, didn't go running yesterday, Temescal's pretty nice, need to workout... what more reasons do I need?)
So got up six hours later, met up with Amy and her friend Jack, and hiked Temescal Canyon's ridge/canyon loop. It's actually quite pretty in the morning before the crowd hits. Jack evidently was here for just a week and was filling his Los Angeles tourist addiction, plus an extra-large dose of beaches and scenic views. A last-minute hike at Temescal Canyon fit the bill perfectly-- nice views of Malibu and Santa Monica, enough elevation to be a workout, and nice and short to fit into the time remaining!
Next up for the day was lunch at bibigo (b!b!go) with Teresa-- turns out this brand-new Korean bibimbap place in Westwood, in the old Scallions location, is exactly as expected: mediocre Korean food. At least it had an extra dose of "cute" with it. Still, it was pretty bad. The company was good, though!
Finally, off to C&O Trattoria for Heather's birthday. Pretty much the whole crowd showed up, minus only a handful: Justin's friends, plus Sophia, Alicia, Carley, Tara and Eugene, Grace and Kevin, Chris and Bettina, Camille and Francis, Cari, etc. etc. etc. We had a pretty big group, tons of food, and a lot of fun. Plus mmmmmmm garlic rolls.
I think there were 8 other birthdays being celebrated that evening in our half of the restaurant. Lots of singing and good times. (especially the table behind us, which was 17 girls and one guy. (!)).
