Alaska and Vancouver 2010
Breakfast in the formal dining room to avoid the crazy lines at the buffet. Turns out that was only ok as far as food (french toast was too soft, yuck), but much better than the crowds. Since it was so cold on deck, a lot of the outside seating areas were being left empty, and finding a seat inside the Palm Springs Buffet was a pain.
A special Captain's Club event followed. Not that we needed to eat more, but going to an event where Celebrity tries to make their repeat cruisers feel special isn't bad. Plus the sushi was slightly better than up in the buffet.
Tendered off of Icy Strait Point (and the village of Hoonah) afterwards-- with a whale greeting us almost immediately! Rode on the overpriced ZipRider zipline there-- it was 90 seconds and 5,300 feet of AWESOME (right-click save-as, MP4 video), but crap it was expensive. The view it gave was breathtaking, I will give it that! We returned after dinner and found yet another whale right in the bay, too. Cool! Too bad the rest of the area is pretty boring otherwise. The cruise lines as well as the natives know you're locked in to whatever the cruise lines can sell you...
