Camille and Francis' Wedding
aka, an excuse to take way, way too many pictures.
After how many years, though, Camille and Francis finally got married! They got engaged nine months before which wasn't too bad, but they've been together forever. People were waiting for this day. *grins*
Having experienced the full on Catholic ceremony a month before at Viet and Maggie's wedding I knew what to expect, and while fairly serious and dramatic, Camille and Francis' pastor managed to pass on his concept of suffering as being crucial to a marriage while only mildly scaring the bejesus out of the single people. *eeep!* The huge wedding party was also interesting to watch; having never seen a 16 person wedding party before, or one with a sponsored veil, or the zillion other things I missed... it was very elaborate. The wedding program itself was one of the most involved things I'd ever seen. St. Bernadine of Siena Catholic Church is a pretty venue, too.
We somehow squeezed in a few moments to congratulate Francis and Camille, a slightly longer time to talk to Heather and Tara (who were among the 7 bridesmaids), slightly shorter than a wave to talk to Rayna and Macy (matron of honor and bridesmaid, both also drinking buddies from Camille's last party)... then we let the wedding party take their pictures (some in the mud, oops!) while we went to grab pearl tea before the reception.
The reception was a straightforward American-style (rather than Filippino style) affair at Calamigos Equestrian Center in Burbank. Open bar for beer and wine most of the night, too, which lead to some slight enthusiasm from some of the attendees, especially Camille's coworkers. (chug! chug! was heard through the night)
Some highlights: the most unique grooms' cake I have ever seen: Mario-themed with Bowser and the entire gang of characters. A bridesmaid and groomsman who actually hung out most of the night. The bride's mom getting drunk with the rest of the crowd partying. The photo booth setup by the photographer doing not one, but four photos on a sheet, leading to some... interesting sequences. ("sexy backs" apparently was a theme...) One of the brides' sisters snapping her fingers so much while drunk and dancing that her fingernail (broke? died? came off?). And much more...
