Thai and Korean noodles
First stop, Sapp Coffee Shop in Thai town for some awesome Thai noodles. It was first discovered in a few noodle blogs years ago, then some other friends who live nearby went.. then I finally hauled my butt over for some Thai Boat Noodles.
Friggin' amazing. I'm not very familiar with good Thai food, but if all real Thai food is this good, sign me up for a vacation in Thailand! Went with Peter "Yaz" Yang from Ars Technica, who's now at UCLA as well, and this trip was in large part to appease the other foodies on Ars. Hey we expected them to be right, and they were!
Couple of pics of horrible pizza. "Salmon" pizza? Gross. Period.
Then, Old Time Noodles House in Gardena. Cold spinach noodles, fresh hot dumplings, water kimchee, and galbi. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm good. Then again I love noodles, and these portions were huge and filling. And given how hot it was outside, an excellent meal, especially with galibi (which was only okay, but you don't go to a noodle house for the galbi!) and dumplings as a contrast. Also delicious. 'bout the real problem with Old Time Noodles House is that they're awfully close to Tofu Villa, Shin Sen Gumi Hakata Ramen, and some other really good places. I only have one stomach, and I can only make so many visits to Gardena...
