September in pictures

September in pictures... random pictures.

First three are from Sushi Masu in west Los Angeles. Very, very good sushi. Downright yummy. If I just want sushi, I go elsewhere. If I want a really special sushi dinner, I go elsewhere. But if I'm in the mood to sit down, shut up, and get some very good sushi without going too broke, I go to Sushi Masu. (for even less money there's Hide Sushi, but they're definitely not as good as Masu. They are cheaper, though!). The live sweet shrimp, mmmmmmmm. There's usually that, plus uni, plus a whole bunch of more exotic fish I can never rememeber the names of. Someday I'll take a picture of the daily specials...

Four photos from Pho Vie in Westminster. Reasonably solid pho, although being stuck in the land-of-no-good-pho called west Los Angeles means my taste buds could be off. To me even decent pho is usually pretty good, and this was definitely decent.

The last photos are from an impromptu barbeque by the Geography grad students at UCLA, over in Holmby Park. We had to welcome the new students, after all!
