August in pictures
Random pictures throughout the month of August-- Bill and Annie made dinner in the first four pictures, then had Sophia, Dan, Justin, and I over (was there others? I forget!) to help eat it!
Five pictures from El Gringo in Manhattan Beach with Pearl and Simon. El Gringo is a fairly unremarkable place, unless you go there for the specials. Tuesday Taco night is $5 per taco. Sounds expensive? It does. Til you see how big the tacos are. Holy crap. The catch is, when I am starving, I am starving, and I need more than two tacos (even two big ones)... kind of hard to knock 'em for my appetite being too big, though. =)
Four pictures from Disneyland, the day before the Disneyland Half Marathon. (runner photos, official results). I was supposed to be running with my boss, Mike, and his brother... but somehow the seeding and corral placement got all messed up. I ticked off a 1:58:50 (9:04/mile) which was almost perfectly on target! Unfortunately I didn't bring a camera on race day and my boss didn't bring his phone, so, yeah, oops. t'was fun and the medal was definitely nice, but it is one pricey race otherwise.
Last two pictures are from Century City's mall, aka Westfield Century City. Technically speaking they're from the parking lot-- they just upgraded to putting free-space-available counters, and I was rather amused. Plus they had everything bolted to the ceiling rather than buried in concrete, so it was easy to see and almost as easy to photograph. Pretty neat!
