One foggy, miserable day at Echo Cliffs. Damp and wet on the way in, but we decided to go for it anyway-- and as it turns out, the rock was more than dry enough in most places at the bottom of the cliffs. Awesome!
Farted around on the Left Flank, did B-line (5.10a), then got hammered on Morning Glory (5.9)-- I think it was Morning Glory. Ground fall for me from the first bolt, amazing landing onto the bush below it that actually didn't hurt that bad. Crazy. Got too focused on the crack and forgot about the holds to the sides outside of the crack. Whoops, sadly typical...
Wandered over to Xanadu in the Grotto, which was soaked, so Bill gave Lowrider (5.10b) another shot. Made it farther than the last time! As usual, up to the 2nd bolt is fine. He got his feet up one more set of holds (about 6" or 12" higher, then another set of moves higher, past a little ridge of stone for the right, and up one pat that, almost to a hole to grab into, then didn't quite make it. Ended up spent the rest of the day...
One of Bill's falls on Lowrider lifted Sophia off the ground and smacked Bill into a tree. Afterwards I started belaying instead...
As we left it was still very foggy, and walking back with a lovely bruise on the bottom of my foot sucked. A rather unproductive day, but good to climb all the same.
