Climbing at Echo Cliffs, take 3

Might actually be take 4, since I suspect there's one Echo trip where no pictures were taken...

Rock climbing at Echo Cliffs. Things have changed in the last few months due to all the rain, some holds have broken off, etc. It was a beautiful day, we almost had the places to ourselves. Will Hobbs from UCLA was also there, but he climbs hard crap so we didn't see him.

Climbed and got hammered, but that was okay. Did Miss Pacman (5.9) to warm up, the start looks like a few holds have broken off... then did B-line (5.10a) over on the Left Flank. Bill looked good, figured out the crux at the first bolt, then the very ending is a left-arm side pull that sucked. I went up and did it, and holy crap, doing a 100' climb is NOT something I am in shape for!

Farted around on Xanadu (5.7) in the Grotto next, had fun with the water on it. Then tried to do Lowrider (5.10b) in the Grotto. Easily made it to the 2nd bolt, then a few moves past it... then got crushed. Bill tried it and got crushed. We think we have the moves figured out, it's just a massive, careful balance effort required next to avoid barn dooring off. There's enough feet on Low Rider that even an idiot like me can make it farther up... just gotta get there!

Saw some people working a project to the right of Gameboy/Ms. Pacman (5.9) that looks ridiculous, but maybe that's because we're not experienced with cracks and liebacks?

And did I mention it was beautiful? The panoramics don't do it justice.
