Billy and Simon's Birthdays
Conveniently celebrated at the same time, at Lucille's Smokehouse Barbeque in Torrance.
After arriving a few minutes late-- and finding that we had arrived as the same time as Liang and Dian, and that Viet had not actually made a reservation..........
Well, we could be forgiven for thinking the meal was doomed. (Dian didn't take Viet's head off, plus somehow we got seated in 10 minutes and not the expected 45-60...)
Simon, Steve, and Simon's friends arrived last of all, but they somehow accomodated all of us together, and we had quite a bit of fun. With our food, with the cake (ok not really), etc. Fried okra was better than expected-- we had very modest expectations-- and the tri-tip was pretty decent.
Got up the next morning to work on cars with Randy. Ended up seeing at least 50 sportbikes on 405 North, maybe as many as 70 or 80 motorcycles, some doing tricks, some just riding, but obviously organized all in one big group. There were enough of them to block all the lanes, and at one point we were doing only 40mph or so as a handful of riders did tricks. Kind of cool, kind of annoying. I'd forgive them if they had pulled off one huge massive trick, but no such luck! The last two pictures are after we were doing working on cars. For some reason, Randy's kids love being in pictures. With camera geeks such as Justin, Ryan, Jason, and I on the forums, I suppose guessing why isn't too hard since there's always a camera around when people are meeting up to have fun!
