Huntington Gardens, Hollywood Bowl, etc.
aka Sam's visit, day 2.
Sam's Visit, day 2... starting the day with dim sum at Empress Harbour in Monterey Park. Very good dim sum, although not quite as high-end as the truly fancy places. Which is okay, because it's still very good.
Off to Huntington Gardens so Sam can play with his camera. It's a bit too warm and the flowers are wilting from the heat, but it's not too bad. Plus, strange things of all strange things, Sophia actually wore a skirt! Lots of pictures of the Japanese Gardens, the Rose Garden, and random stuff until we ran out of time.
Sophia, Justin, Carley, and Sam headed over to the Griffith Observatory afterwards, while I met up with Julie and Joycelyn to see Underworld and Paul Oakenfold at the Hollywood Bowl. Awesome show. Strange seeing Paul Oakenfold in daylight, and being in a seat (!) rather than in a sweaty, dark, strobes-blazing club. Underworld was even better than I had expected, although not everyone felt that way-- probably because they'd seen them before and had seen better shows.
