Dinner with Leif-Eric @ Flame
Dinner with Leif-Eric and Eun-Young at Flame Persian Cusine in Westwood.
Met some new people-- Nate, Evelyn, and Jirina-- and it looks like these once all-former-UCLA RSS member dinners that Leif has been organizing are slowly being polluted by new blood. *grins* Nate, Kevin, Eun-Young, Daniel, and I are all outsiders... but they seem to welcome us anyway.
Dinner was lovely, although the 9 block walk to the restaurant turned out to be a smidgen farther than Evelyn realized, and Jirina brought a huge birthday cake that she somehow hand-carried several blocks from Santa Monica Blvd. Yikes!
Flame advertised their naturally raised organic Alaskan beef, and people seemed to agree it was pretty good. Much like Shahrezad or similar restaurants, the portions were huge, and I don't think anyone left hungry.
Heading to Grace's place afterwards (driving, not walking!) to consume a massive tiramisu cake further ensured we were all stuffed, while truly classic Disney cartoons from Kevin's collection kept us all entertained. In honor of all the June birthdays, we had some Beck's as well-- which happened to spell out the first initials for all the June birthdays in the group: Brian, Eun-Young, Carley (who couldn't make it), Kevin, Sophia. Kinda cool.
