Brian's Birthday
Dinner, dessert, drinks... and at least one hammered liver in the process. Maybe more.
A repeat of last year's all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ at Mu Dung San, this time with a much larger group-- 14 of us: Tara and Eugene, Bill and Annie, Erik and Mary, Sophia, Shen, Dan, Alicia, Pearl, Simon, and Alan, plus myself... and this time, we closed the place. Food kept flowing, although they actually turned off the grill three times or so. Next time we'll have to make Sophia order the food faster! *grins* (or I need to be less intoxicated. hmm. nah!) Somehow Bill and I were both capable of eating more by the end of the night, oops! It's ok, we fixed that shortly with large amounts of dessert.
Dessert-- aka a break to keep me alive for a while longer-- was at Ice Kiss further into Koreatown. They serve very large portions of shaved ice/ice cream garnished with fruit, cereal, gummies, whipped cream, and all kinds of yummy stuff. The 2-person "medium" is served in a large silver dog bowl, while the 4-person "large" is served in a salad bowl. HUGE and they serve more like 4 and 8, respectively. Justin also joined us while we were there, and chocolate cake was had. Mmmmm.
We thought about heading over to Orchid Lounge afterwards, per the original plan, but people were more interested in drinking than drinking and karaoke, so we ended up at a place less than a block away, the Bohemian. That's one thing you have to love about K-town, tons of places to go to, and they're all so close by!
We got our table for 12, then the the soju started flowing. I remember peach and yogurt flavors, then my memory gets pretty hazy. Annie started throwing popcorn to keep things interesting, and as far as I remember, the entertainment continued. My memory grows increasingly hazy at this point as I was doing one shot of soju every other time someone missed my mouth... so others will have to fill in the rest of the night. =D
Eventually we piled into our cars-- everyone carpooled, thankfully!-- and everyone made it hope. The casualty report the next morning was one trashed Brian, one somewhat-less-trashed Bill, and evidently Pearl's camera got lost that night, too. =( The search for the camera continues, but the rest of things look good, everyone was restored to life about 1pm on Sunday...
Things look a bit short on pictures from the Bohemian, hopefully Pearl's camera will be retrieved soon. If you know where it is, please e-mail!
