Food. Tasty food.
Four pictures from McCormick and Schmidts'. Well, one of an inconvenient traffic roadblock right in front of the restaurant, and three of the meal. Not bad for seafood, although a bit too pricey to eat at regularly, even with coupons. That said the scalops were damned good...
The remaining pictures are from Capital Seafood in Monterey Park.
Shrimp across the world are terrified of us now. We went through seven orders of hai gow and shu mai-- and it was 5 pieces per order. Yikes! Throw in the baked almond milk drink with ginko nuts, cheung fun (both beef and more shrimp), gai lan, and the usual other goodies, so good. About the only things we didn't really get were good char shu buns-- these were merely passable-- or any dan tat. They had some weird white-filling tarts, but nothing that looked like the tradtional egg custard dan tat that we're familiar with.
We stopped by a bakery afterwards, where pineapple buns were the order of the day for Frances. Sophia picked up some stuff as well, but again the dan tats looked unsatisifactory. Or maybe I'm just picky.
