Dinner!
An extremely quick trip back to the Bay Area on business did have a few nice benefits, aside from having to be up hideously early, jammed in a flying aluminum tube with 180 other people, and forgetting my jacket in Los Angeles.
Benefits such as seeing the family (and 2nd family) for a few scant hours, and the ability to take a few friends out to a nice dinner on an expense account.
Erik, Michelle, Daniel, Amy, and I ended up at Kubota Restaurant in San Jose's Japantown, where we enjoyed plenty of good food, including toro, uni, maguro, hamachi, ebi, unagi, sukyaki, and no less than four kinds of dessert. Seeing Amy's grin go from ear-to-ear when she found out that her banana fosters was topped with ice cream was priceless. =D
Of course, actually having to get back outside and into the cool night air after dinner was not exactly ideal.
And yes, Seamus, purveyor of cute, decided that Erik's sweater was also an acceptable spot to camp.
