Long distance driving is one thing for 350, 450, etc. miles. 500 miles is where it gets long, but it's not hard to get used to. The line seems to be somewhere around 12 hours on the road, which translates into about 800 miles in one day. At that point you need to spend time walking around and stretching, and if you prefer decent food like we do, an actual meal at a diner as opposed to grease for dinner is time you really should take. The 940 miles from Colorado to Iowa were by far the most arduous of the trip.
