Joel's Visit
Joel's last visit to Los Angeles before hauling himself to law school.
Lots of eating... Gaby's Mediterranean, Versailles, California Roll Factory, plus I think Joel, Scott, and Heather hit some other places without me (and my stomach) too.
Being fans of shooting, Joel and I made it a point to head over to the LA Gun Club to do some shooting. We noticed they had a Mosin-Nagant 7.62x51 there. That was sweet-- having never fired a rifle before, we immediately went up to one of the classic WW2 weapons that fires a (relatively) massive cartridge. The 5.56NATO's look small compared to these monsters. The sound was something else, too. Pistons, even monster handguns, and shotguns make a loud noise. The sound from the Mosin-Nagant was loud. Two girls and their boyfriends entered the range shortly after we started firing the Mosin-Nagant. They screamed. More. Than. Once.
We grinned like madmen. I think their boyfriends did, too. hee hee.
Afterwards was just random driving and stuff, hanging out at Volcano Tea and Irish Times. Nothing too specifically interesting, just good to kick around Los Angeles, the other major metropolis before packing off to New York.
