Stoney Point, take 6
Somehow I managed to get up the next morning, after something like 18oz of vodka, and go rock climbing at Stoney.
Then we somehow climbed from, was it 9am to 4pm? It was pretty ridiculous. And tons of fun! Did Potholes (5.7) on the backwall, attempted and failed Potholes traverse about 50 times (V1), did a climb next to Potholes and failed (5.9)-- Bill and I both whiffed, but the rest of the group figured it out-- the climb was kind of ugly so we didn't bother to attempt it again. Then over to Mozart's wall, where we did about half the stuff there-- left (5.8), center (5.9), and right (5.10a/b) routes, plus attempts at some of the incredibly hard (for us) bouldering problems as well.
Awesome and fun, but a little nuts. I'll have to check the Stoney Point book to verify which routes again-- particularly the difficulty, which changes as these routes generally get harder as the sandstone has worn down since the book was last published... *grins*
Afterwards, cleaned up and had dinner at Tuk-tuk Thai with the Hacketts, since Alicia was trapped at work all day and all evening...
