Food!
There's more that happened, but the camera didn't make it inside to clubbing at Zanzibar.
First set of pictures is dinner with Leif-Eric, a fellow Bruin who has since escaped to Harvard and travelled the world. He still stops by Los Angeles once in a while, where he meets up with friends such as Sophia & Justin, Carley, Donna, Erick, Daniel, Grace, and others. (I guess I'm an "other", as is Jennifer. hehe!)
It was a relatively simple affair at Chili's in Westwood on short notice, but everyone had fun. This group is doing lots of interesting things, and it shows! Conversation was very animated and very broad. Fun times marked the whole night, even as we were waiting for the slow service at Chili's. Leif-Eric's visit was supposed to be longer, rather than the very brief few days he was here, but hopefully sometime in the future a proper party will be planned for him when he visits!
Second set of pictures is dinner at Rambutan Thai with Margaret, her roommates Rita & Robert, Sophie, Sophie's fiance Dennis, and Sophie's friend Amanda. Very yummy food and a nice selection of drinks. The eggplant and the beef were delicious! Afterwards was over to Zanzibar off 5th and Arizona in Santa Monica for a friend-of-friend's birthday. I'm a little vague on the details, but Margaret let Akiko know we were coming, we met up with Angela while we were there, and the crowd inside was great!
Hip-hop music and only a moderately busy night meant the massive group of people that were there for the birthday party that Akiko planned were able to secure some space as a group and hang around on the couches, while those who wanted to dance didn't have to bump elbow-to-back-to-elbow on the dance floor. Aside from no pictures, the biggest issue was the fact that I'm ridiculously bad with names. I can't even remember the birthday boy's name.
A side note: Angela and Margaret had a drink as soon as we got in (I think it was Angela's second), then a shot of liquid cocaine (Goldschlager, 151, and Jagermeister), then a round of Patron. Add in the preparty drinks and... yeah. It's a good thing we only had to drive a few short miles to the safety of a warm apartment!
