Mid-Autumn Festival Dinner
Dinner at Lucky City Restaurant in San Gabriel. Apparently everyone in attendance lacked convenient family activities for what is otherwise a big family-oriented holiday, so we elected to come: Sophia, Justin, Jian-hui, Joycelyn, myself; plus some other friends who were along minus the cultural reason: Bill, Alicia, and one of Joycelyn's friends. I think I'm missing one of Sophia and Bill's co-workers too, but I can't remember his name! =(
Lucky City was originally MPV Garden, although the food tasted about as I remembered it-- pretty good. Service was extremely quick. Wintermelon and seafood soup, fried crab, sea cucumber and something else, hot pot (with.. intestines? very chewy), pepper beef, stir-fried asparagus and oysters, and breaded frog. Peking duck never arrived, *grumble*.
Quite yummy. At least to me. Alicia tried the sea cucumber and some other things and wasn't terribly impressed. =P
The mooncakes courtesy of my employer also went to good homes in many stomachs. =D
Bottom picture is from the previous night, before seeing Tea at Five at the Pasadena Playhouse.
