Memorial Day Weekend 2005 We give thanks to those who have served our country. The traditional way seems to be a BBQ. :-) I had an almost-unheard-of 5 day weekend at home, although I spent two days working onsite with a customer on business. That explains the large yummy lobster picture with coworkers, and the lack of other pictures. *grins* Friday night... saw Erik and 2nd family before they left for the weekend. Sherman was almost too lazy to get up to greet me. Saturday was spent up in Berkeley, wandering around their newly built dorm areas and around Telegraph. Yes, my family is full of dorks! Dinner was at Tandoor Kitchen off Telegraph-- very yummy food and affordably priced, perfect for broke college students. Pearl tea with Michelle and her boyfriend Juan followed. It was my first time meeting Juan and it was my first time seeing Michelle in... six months? A year? Maybe longer? She's finally graduating, woohoo! Sunday was in San Francisco. Lots of traffic near SBC Park as I met up with Joel and Corinne. (sp?) Browsed around Union Square, saw a crashed music playing machine at Virgin Megastore (I'm a geek, I can't help it!), then a snack at Cheesecake Factory. Looks like Joel's doing pretty good, despite being stuck in Santa Rosa for the time being. Afterwards it was off to see another friend I hadn't seen in two years or so, Yoshi. Dinner was at Park Chow off Irving Street, then off to see Star Wars Episode 3. I don't know how so many people could have not seen Episode 3, but Yoshi and her friends hadn't gone to see it; and the geek in me was willing to oblige them and see it again. Unfortunately, no pictures with Yoshi. Running late for dinner and being inside a movie theater weren't conductive to taking pictures. *sigh* (plus she's pretty good at protesting...) Not too much else that was big... the sheer novelty of being home for five days was more than enough! Missed Uncle Kwok's BBQ on Sunday since I was in San Francisco... :-/
