The little red Evo that could...
Couldn't resist. ;-)
Out to Tuning Technologies in Colton (San Bernadino), California for a little SoCalEvo meet, and to get Barry's `03 Evo8 a Works ECU reflash. Mmmmmmmmm... boost!
The meet itself was pretty small. Not much to note, but Tuning Technologies does have a rare 4WD dynojet, which is always nice to know...
That evening is dinner and drinks in Hermosa Beach at Sangria Lounge, a fairly trendy Mexican-style place one block off the beach. I'm still a little fuzzy on how dinner was put together-- someone's birthday who also went to UCLA with us... either way, it was fun. Unlike Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach has a pretty lively pier at night. It's smaller than Venice or Santa Monica, but for some reason it felt a little more upscale, a little more busy. If I ever go back, I'll make sure to do some more exploring. A little Gran Turismo 4 at the end of the night didn't hurt, either!
Unexpected bonuses of the UCLA connections: saw Sam Fatoohi and a few other people I hadn't seen in forever-- a bunch of Barry's friends from the dorm years... "We were such dicks" was a common saying that night. *grins*
