February fun
Dinner with Sophia's friend Jian-Hui and her boyfriend and the rest her friends. Szeuchan food at Oriental Pearl in San Gabriel. We ordered everything hot. It was very tasty. I'm still missing taste buds from that meal.
Afterwards, down to Phoenix Inn for dessert and arm wrestling (!). Dessert was yum. Arm wrestling-- well, you can see the pictures for yourself. Jian-Hui has video somewhere, too.
The next day was off to Mt. Baldy to take advantage of $25 lift ticket deals. Normally Mt. Baldy sucks, as they don't make snow and only have 1-2' to start with. The storms while we were at Mammoth left much of SoCal with 6-7' (!) of snow. It was packed as a result, the rental gear sucked, the runs were fairly narrow and short, and the snow--having melted and refrozen several times-- was rather icy and slick in spots, but for $25, it wasn't bad. And heck, it was darned close to us.
Would we go back? Probably not, but it was nice to say we've gone there.
The last picture is a Honda FCX fuel-cell vehicle we spotted outside of Maxim Cafe after dinner. I'm a car geek, I admit it.
