Home for Labor Day weekend. Always good to see family and friends, and the trips home are never quite long enough...

The original plan was to head home on Friday afternoon, but work screwed that idea pretty good. Left Saturday, had drinks with Erik, Maggie, Jimmie, and Sueh... and voila, Saturday was pretty much gone! (Friday-through-Monday might have been a long enough trip. sigh.)

Sunday, Erik, Majed, Katie, Maggie, and them went hiking up at China Beach. I was very tempted to go, but I had a couple hours of stuff to do at home, so I didn't. Plus that sleep thing, I wanted a little bit more of it. Stayed home and spent the morning and afternoon doing errands and chores that I had been unable to do for 3 months, then everyone came over for my parents' BBQ.

Saw almost all of Barry's family (no Barry), saw almost all of Erik's family (plus cousin Maggie but minus Jim), saw half of Sara's family (Sara and her dad, Jim), saw half of the Morgans... pretty good turnout. Gina had her friends Julie and Katrina over, too, so it was a packed house. Just for good measure, Majed showed up too! Mmmmmm... BBQ...

We eventually left the parents to their own devices and saw Napoleon Dynamite, then did the old-familiar-ghetto-high-school-era thing and had milkshakes at Denny's before going home. Sunday... Did some other stuff, fixed Erik's computer (he finally diagnosed it, so we bought the last part), then back to Los Angeles!
