SF Giants vs. LA Dodgers The end of 3rd week... just scant days before the real works sets in this quarter, we spend a Saturday afternoon watching the San Francisco Giants beat up on the Los Angeles Dodgers (ESPN link.) Barry's little sister Grace flew in to visit her big brother for a couple of days, so he picked her up, we picked some other friends up, then off to the game! (Game was Saturday, 19 April at Dodger Stadium, just for reference).
We indugled in hot dogs "Dodger dogs", garlic fries, and Gordon Biersch Golden Export at the game. Overpriced, yummy, and definitely a part of the baseball game experience! The $16.50 hole in my wallet still looks pretty ugly, though. No pictures either-- our laps were so full with the food trays that I couldn't get a camera out without knocking over my fries or my beer! We stayed through the end of the seventh inning. It was an excellent game through the first four and a half innings... then the fifth inning came (Giants up 3-2) and the Giants scored 5 runs. Ouch. Sixth inning, Rivera started out with a solo home run bring the score to 6-2. Yikes... for the Dodgers! We took off after the 7th inning, and as we were in the parking lot in the already-very-very-long line to get out, we heard the Giants had won 9-3. We sat in the parking lot for over an hour trying to get out, made it back to Westwood to drop off Jason and go to Ralph's (for groceries and alcohol), then back to Barry's to go party a little bit more. Alice likes to play bartender, so she mixed drinks for everyone while we watched Shaolin Soccer on DVD and played some strange hand signal/number games. *shrug* Some looked pretty fun... others... well, I don't understand enough Mandarin so I have no idea! We watched Barry's ACA Hip Hop video from All-Cal last year, too. There's video of Barry following his routine from Hip Hop as he watched it on tape, too. :-D (in the interests of space, it's not posted, although it is available upon request) We switched to playing cards, more hand/number games, and watching music videos and part of Top Gun. We broke out the beer, too.
We were able to drag Karen back to my car (stopping near a caution! wet surface sign near Barry's apartment (!)), then Alice and I had to carefully lead her back to her dorm room. Supposedly she woke up and didn't feel too bad-- amazing!-- although plenty of water and puking twice before collapsing into bed probably helped alot!
