So That's Los Angeles
Superbowl weekend... Raiders vs. Bucanners... that wasn't very interesting, though.
What we did before hand. Barry's friends Abby and Tamy came down from San Jose, so the goal of the weekend was to show them Los Angeles... or what little we could in such a short time.
By the time I was free on Friday night, we went straight to Muse, a little bar on Sawtelle and Olympic, where the bartender Bonnie proceeded to help us get our guests inebrated. Finished the night at Barry's apartment playing cards, then I headed back to my apartment to sleep and get ready for a dyno day the next morning.
The next evening... we went around Santa Monica's 3rd Street Promenade, although we'd lost Tamy along the way somehow. Finished with 3rd Street, we picked up Alice, then met Tamy and her friend at Coffee Bean in Westwood. Minus Tamy and her friend as they went back to Riverside... watched The Bourne Identity on Barry's big screen.
Man, it sounds boring. Sounds like a classic 2nd-year approach to college life without cars... only this time we had cars, we just didn't have the time for a proper tour of Los Angeles, especially since Tamy and Abby had to sleep off hangovers. =)
Sunday was the SuperBowl. Lunch was a yummy sushi buffet at Light House Buffet in Santa Monica, then our guests left and we watched the Raiders let the Bucs slaughter 'em after the first quarter.
Other places to explore that we never got to:
Ah well... plenty more friends to take around the next time!
