In lieu of a regular community forum, local police departments, including University of California Los Angeles, decided to hold a "National Night Out" event. Was fun and feel good but felt rather devoid of any attempt to event show hard information. Not that I am opposed to eating free hamburgers and hot dogs, but was hoping for some effort at something even vaguely substantiative.
SSCERT Fry Day the next day at Madison's request. He swore up and down it wasn't a potluck but that's sort of what it felt like. Joe's fried chicken is always superb, Madison brought a bunch more stuff to deep fry, and others brought in pie, fried rice, salad, chips, and dessert. Sooooooooo much delicious food. Thought we'd have way more people in on a Wednesday than we actually did, oops.
Also, lead off was some random old airplane food. Not awful, but not recommended either. Eat only if free.
