Wine Tasting, take 1
Wine tasting at Irina's, as arranged by Abby and Irina. Very interesting partying with staff and grad students... even our MSO, Kasi, showed up.
We even made an attempt at picking the best wine, too, voting via little slips of paper that we scribbed opinions on. I forget which wine it was, but one of them won by a hefty majority.
While it was a handful of staffers (Kasi, Irina, Ana, and myself), suprisingly, Geography grad students didn't make up all of the rest of the crowd. A few grads from other departments were there, one of our visiting scholars, Ulrich, was there, and Abby's friend Tik (sp?). I'm actually not sure how many people were really there, as easily half the crowd present was new to me!
15 or so bottles of wine were reduced to three, and the snacks that Irina and Abby prepared were quite tasty. Several nice cheeses, crackers, bread, sausage, etc. They even had enough wine glasses for everyone! I forget who brought games, but we played a card game called Pit! and there were some rather dorky geography games available as well.
And, ummm, no, I'm not quite sure what was going on with the pants. o_O
