Busy weekend.

Okay, so I was out playing all weekend.

"playing" is what I meant by busy.

It was still a busy one, very tiring and very refreshing at the same time at least, unlike days when I have work.

Mentally my weekend started 8am Friday morning too, which made things really long and rough at work on Friday. *sigh* And now the weekend is over, and it feels like it's ending much too soon-- moreso than usual!

Is April national "Update your Blog" month?

Xanga, Livejournal, Blogger, OpenDiary, and other web-based "journals": it seems like everyone has one today.

Most get updated a few times, then sit neglected, never updated again. Others are updated infrequently at best, a few times a year at most. A small few are updated on a regular basis.

I check my friends' journal entries on a fairly irregular basis-- the ones who update frequently I try to check frequently, the ones who don't get checked less frequently. Some only seem to update only when the planets are in alignment or something like that. It's your life, your blog, so it's your choice on whenever you want to update.

The month of April must have done something, though. Perhaps everyone was procrastinating doing their taxes? I randomly checked a few today, and they were all updated in the last 10 days or so! Naturally, I proceeded to check them all after that, and wow, most were updated recently!

Craziness.

I thought the arrival of spring was supposed to lead us back into the big blue room with the yellow ball in the sky, instead of planting our butts back on our blogs!

A partial list of who's updated recently... compared to the usual, this is a MASSIVE set of updates from everyone!

Lots of serious things, too. Lots of times we just post fluff. What happened that's cool, what we did yesterday, what toy we just got, etc. Lots of blogs have gone deeper lately. Are my friends experiencing a phase of change and introspection, or is this just the release of pent-up energies before that we weren't ready to share publicly? For friends who I see regularly or semi-regularly, I like to think I can answer that question. For others, it's not so easy or straightforward. What are we actually writing, and why?

I can only speak for myself in this matter. To me, this is a public entry. Anyone and everyone can view it and read it. I enjoy sharing fluff, occasionally a little deeper, but beyond ranting about life in general, I don't like to go into detail. For others-- take what you're reading for what it's worth. Maybe what's written means something more to me, since I'm a friend or acquaintance or whatnot, versus the random web-only reader. Or maybe it doesn't. It depends on the blog, the friend or the reader, and the interaction of the two coupled with the reader/friends's knowledge of the writer.

Vegas.

Yes, I know it's been a long time. Las Vegas pictures are up. I really should go more often considering how close I am to there. It's not that Vegas isn't fun, it's just that I have so much other fun stuff to do!

(and plenty of un-fun stuff, but hey, I need to work to put food on the table and a roof over my head, don't I?)
