Started driving up the east coast today, saw some Icelandic horses by the side of the road a random chair atop a rock, checked out a rocky beach.
A modest looking, unexpectedly tasty vegetarian lunch at Modir Jord - Vallanes Organic farm, then a hike up to Hengifoss and Litlanesfoss. Erik liked the unique horizontal rock strata at Hengifoss, although this was perhaps the most skippable waterfall for me. The nearby Skriduklaustur farmstead was just a quick visit.
Passed through Egilsstadir on the way to Seydisfjordur that evening. Couldn't figure out why the guides recommended the latter over the former til we descended the ridge and saw the view, which was indeed prettier on the fjord than the litter highway crossroads town on the river. Nothing too crazy but a decent grill for dinner, plus Erik and Katie enjoyed the live music.
