Almost got completely screwed by traffic on the way to the OC Half Marathon. 405 was completely shut down, ended up motionless for long enough that I almost missed the race... made it to the start line just in time for the Pledge of Allegiance and the race start. *whew*
Given absolutely zero training, finishing sub-2 hours was a result I had no complaints with! Beautiful weather for a race as well-- nice and overcast, almost perfect temperatures. A mostly passable pho breakfast after at Pho Hoa Cau, although I would skip the tasteless spring rolls.
Spent the following afternoon playing board games. Wingspan was still excellent the second time around, although it's definitely a bit lighter than we're used to. And it's still very pretty. It does make me wonder what kind of nuance we're missing, which means we'll just have to play a few more times?
Dusted off Pandemic as well. Actually been playing it more recently; we've figured out 3 or 4 of the roles pretty well, but still need to work on the rest- epic disaster is almost comic to watch (tragic is overstating it *grins*). Ideally all this practice will come into play later this summer, if we can persuade the Lai-Lu family to carve out time for a few rounds of Pandemic: Legacy?
