Frances and Patrick made it into town, so it was time to meet up with their friends and head off to Javan for a casual-yet-classy dinner of Persian food. Much like dinner two days ago at Nanbankan, I think they used to be better-- but Javan was still pretty good, particularly the chicken kebabs. Service was superb, too. And the appetizer we had of rice and chickpeas (?) was definitely unique.
Down the street to Volcano Tea on Sawtelle for dessert. Several of us couldn't resist a drink named Panda Sunrise, even if it was basically diabetes in a cup! Waaaaay too sweet, although Volcano remains an enjoyable experience as ever. Next time will have to stick to the less crazy normal menu of milk teas and slushies, less we risk keeling over from sugar overload on the spot. *grins*
